Onboarding customers efficiently is essential for agency success. This tutorial covers the workspace creation process and permission management to ensure each customer gets their own dedicated Pressmaster environment.
Understanding Customer Workspaces
The way customer onboarding works is you can always create new workspaces. Ideally, each customer has its own workspace and you can think of it as having Pressmaster multiple times within one account.
Workspace Independence Each workspace has its own:
Brand guide
Brand voice
Trendmaster
Integrations
This means every customer gets a completely separate Pressmaster environment within your agency account.
Onboarding Your First Customer
The way you onboard your first customer is by creating their very own workspace, then setting up the brand guide as the very first step.
Two Setup Options
Option 1: Done-For-You Service You can do it for your customer, just fill out everything for them if it's a done-for-you service.
Option 2: Customer Self-Setup You can invite customers with very specific permissions to handle their own setup.
Customer Access Through White Label
If you invite users on the workspace level, they will be able to access their workspace through your very own domain, which you connected with Pressmaster.
Permission Management
If you want customers to do the onboarding instead of you doing it for them:
Select integrations permission level
The only thing they'll see is the brand guide and the integration part
Let them complete everything themselves
Handling Social Media Access Concerns
If you have a customer that is not willing to share their social media access with you:
Invite them with the integration permission
They can log in through your white label domain
They can connect their LinkedIn, Instagram, X, or any other channel themselves
The Three-Step Onboarding Process
Once the brand guide has been created and the integrations are done, you're basically good to go. Customer onboarding essentially takes just three steps:
Step 1: Workspace Creation Create the dedicated workspace for your customer.
Step 2: Brand Setup
Set up the brand voice (if they have one)
Step 3: Integration Setup Make sure their LinkedIn, X, Instagram and other channels are connected.
Additional Setup The only other thing you would have to do is making sure TrendMaster has been set up for their specific industry and needs.
Business Model Considerations
Done-For-You Service If it's a done-for-you service, we don't recommend inviting customers to the web app. Just do the brand guide for them and keep them away from the app.
Do-It-Yourself Service
If it's a do-it-yourself customer, you can invite them to the app with full access. Instead of using Pressmaster's domain and Pressmaster's logo, they will only see your logo and your domain.
Critical Permission Detail
Very Important: Inviting customers should happen on the workspace level, not on the agency level.
You can invite team members to your agency account
You cannot invite customers to the agency level
You must open the actual workspace, click on Settings, then Users
This way your customer will only see their very own workspace and not your whole agency account.
Getting Started with Customer Onboarding
Ready to onboard your first customer? Follow this process:
Create a new workspace for your customer
Set up their brand guide (either do it yourself or invite them with integration permissions)
Configure integrations for their social media channels
Set up TrendMaster for their industry
Invite customer with appropriate permissions based on your service model
Use workspace-level invitations only (Settings > Users within the specific workspace)
Key Points to Remember:
Each workspace operates independently with its own settings
Choose between done-for-you or customer self-setup approaches
Use integration permissions for customers who prefer to handle their own social media connections
Always invite customers at workspace level, never agency level
White label domain ensures customers see only your branding
Three main steps: workspace creation, brand setup, integrations
Proper customer onboarding ensures each client gets their own dedicated Pressmaster environment while maintaining appropriate access levels based on your service model.
